Tim Ashman

Tim is the Founding Director & CEO of TJA Associates.

He has 30 years of policing experience, operating at a senior level, with a proven track record of succeeding in challenging situations. He combines his experience in leadership, partnership working, community safety, and business change with a great eye for detail on any project we take on.

Tim believes in offering his experience to support projects for the greater good of society and has a long-standing role as a business change and stakeholder engagement adviser within the Home Office. He is also an NPED Ambassador.

Miranda Laughton

Miranda is the Chief Operating Officer at TJA Associates.

She is an experienced professional in Project and Programme Management, Business Change, Strategic Human Resources and Stakeholder Engagement, working within national and local government, policing and charitable organisations.

Miranda delivers collaborative solutions to real world challenges, and she enables cohesive partnership working, ensuring there are the right resources in place to deliver on organisational objectives.

Miranda is part of a sport mad family, supporting her two boys both pitch-side and court-side, but when she gets a few minutes to herself she loves running outside in the New Forest.

Kerry Bishop

Kerry is Chief Communications Officer at TJA Associates

Kerry has over 20 years of experience across the full marketing & communications mix, in both large global and small challenger brands, across diverse sectors, developing strategies and tactical plans to help brands & businesses achieve the next stage of growth.

She is passionate about understanding people and businesses, and what they need to achieve their goals. She thrives under pressure in fast-paced, rapidly changing environments, and develops, then actions, communication plans for each of the key stakeholder audiences that we deal with on our projects.

Tim Crouch

Tim is Chief Technical Officer of TJA Associates.

He has over 25 years of experience in defence, security, crisis management and law enforcement.  An experienced programme director and solution architect, Tim has worked on several large, complex national programmes in the UK and overseas, delivering key changes to national defence and security capabilities.

Tim led the development of a digital operating model for law enforcement and provided technical oversight to the development of enhancements that have resulted in a quantum change in the use of communications data in law enforcement.  

Tim enjoys making the complex simple and delivering comprehensive solutions that are more than just leveraging technology.

Nat Jolley

Nat is our Project Support Officer and keeps us all on our toes

Nat brings a diverse range of skills including strategy, logistics, prioritisation, customer service and financial advice developed and honed from her 12 years with Santander, her 9 years owning and running Fitness & Glamping companies, as well as 3 years running pubs. 

Nat has a degree in International Business and a Diploma in Financial Advice and is slightly obsessed with customer service or the lack of it!  

She is an ultra runner in her spare time

SallyAnne Logan

SallyAnne is an Associate at TJA Associates and she is an experienced Project Manager

Having worked in Local Government for nearly 22 years, SallyAnne specialises in community engagement, community asset development and delivery of large-scale housing projects (Garden Towns). She is experienced in managing complex challenges, working with a broad range of partners and delivering on community needs.

SallyAnne is passionate about community and people, making people’s lives better through high quality public service delivery. She thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves collaborating with a wide range of people but always ensures the details are correct!

Andy Marsden

Andy is an Associate at TJA Associates

He has more than 30 years of high-level experience in law enforcement working predominantly in the areas of serious crime but also as a superintendent serving communities across several operational, tactical, and strategic roles.

Andy’s approach to challenges has been honed by dealing with difficult and complex situations focusing on developing effective relationships built on trust. He has represented the UK Governments Crisis Group (COBR), advising on international and terrorist kidnapping cases involving UK subjects and been deployed to many high-risk countries where he has had to utilise his communication and negotiating skills.

Andy actively participates in Golf, Cycling, Badminton, Open Water Swimming and hill walking but is sad to be master of none

Derek Roberts

Derek is an Associate at TJA Associates and is our SME on Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and vehicle compliance

He has almost 40 years’ background in policing, operating at local, regional and national levels, with a significant record of creating innovative solutions to support law enforcement and partner agencies to continuously improve community safety.

Derek believes in providing his extensive experience in partnership working, to connect people and organisations, building trust and recognition of mutual benefits achieved from collaborative approaches, a belief that drove him to become an NPED Ambassador.

Derek loves the truly beautiful game ‘Rugby Union’.

Andrew Bottomley

Andrew is an Associate at TJA Associates

Andrew is a former Senior Police Leader with 30 years’ of service with broad & varied operational experience.

Since leaving the police, Andrew has worked as a Programme Manager in the development & management of international projects supporting law enforcement capacity building for the UK Government in countries such as Turkey, Bosnia Herzegovina, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

Andrew has a demonstrable ability to manage stakeholder relationships, negotiate & influence at all levels of a business and understands the crucial importance of local context when working internationally. He has operated in difficult circumstances, affecting change at an international level in a changing security, economic & political landscape while managing challenging dynamics.

Andrew has a range of interests centred around his family including fishing, shooting, skiing and rugby. He is a Harlequins season ticket holder.

Paul Brooks

Paul is an Associate at TJA Associates

A retired Police Superintendent, Paul has 30 years of experience in operational and command roles both in Hampshire and nationally. He was a nationally approved Firearms, Public Order and Major Public Events Commander.

Paul was tasked to implement the Freedom of Information Act into all police forces in England Wales and Northern Ireland to ensure consistency of approach by all. This was a complex project involving difficult negotiations, and the police service subsequently received parliamentary congratulations on the approach taken.

Paul also managed the ACPO Criminal Records Office, the National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service and the National Wildlife Crime Unit, reporting to NPCC and engaging with multiple stakeholders within the private sector, UK Government departments and the EU. Most recently, he has worked with Border Force Small Boat Command.

Paul loves travelling and mountain walking in Snowdonia with friends.

Katherine Crouch

Katherine is TJA Associates’ Business Development Manager.

Katherine is a highly motivated and proactive professional with a diverse background in leadership, business development, and systems engineering. With a strong track record of success in managing complex projects, improving customer relationships, and driving significant sales growth, Katherine is known for her can-do attitude and her unwavering focus on customer outcomes.

Her experience spans various roles, including account management, project and program management, and technical leadership. These roles have consistently achieved impressive results, such as reversing a sales decline by 300% and successfully delivering challenging sensitive projects. Katherine combines analytical problem-solving skills with excellent interpersonal abilities and likes to foster a culture of enthusiasm, responsibility, and collaboration to achieve business objectives.

A massive animal lover, Katherine regularly bottle feeds abandoned newborn puppies and in the last 3 years has helped to rescue and rehome over 50 dogs.
